Before you start

Create a single-size Windows icon

  • The source is center-cropped to a square and scaled to the selected size from 16 × 16 through 256 × 256.
  • Keep important content near the center so the square crop does not remove it.
  • The ICO contains one PNG-backed icon size rather than a multi-size icon set.
