    Before you start

    What changes when HEIC becomes JPEG

    • The tool decodes the first image in each HEIC or HEIF file and writes a same-size JPEG.
    • Use JPEG where HEIC is not accepted; it is lossy and places transparent pixels on white.
    • Embedded metadata is not copied, and a multi-image container produces only its first image.
